Davina Else is a visual artist based in South East Queensland. She is drawn to candid images, domestic settings and the relationship between the photographer, subject matter and painter. Davina explores how an image can be transformed and a memory preserved through the physical practice of setting paint to canvas.
Whilst predominately an oil painter, Davina enjoys the novelty of trying out new materials and methods of art making. She has worked in ceramics, printmaking, wood carving, and more on projects that range from miniatures to murals.
Davina graduated her Bachelor of Creative Arts, Visual Arts with First Class Honours in 2025. Her final research project explored the relationship between artmaking and wellbeing.
In April 2026 she had her third solo exhibition, Familiar Moments at Field Trip Gallery, Paddington, which showcased the body of work created alongside her research.
Her professional experience includes running children's art workshops across the Darling Downs, painting stage props for a local theatre production and assisting Uni students as a galllery technicion during assessment week.
